Now let us compare the new phone HTC One S with Apple iPhone 4S.
1. Design:
The HTC One S measures 130.9 mm x 65 mm x 7.8 mm and weighs 119.5 g . The 4S on the other hand measures 115.2 mm in length, 58.6 mm in breadth and 9.3 mm in thickness. It is a little heavier than HTC One S with the heft of 140g .
2. Display:
The displays on both phones are pretty different in both size and tech. We have the 3.5 inches Retina Display on the iPhone 4S, with its IPS-LCD technology and 640x960 resolution, meaning 326ppi pixel density, good colors, wide viewing angles, and high brightness.
As for HTC One S, The 4.3” AMOLED display on it sports 540x960 pixels of resolution, results in lower pixel density than iPhone 4S. But AMOLED has other advantages, like wider viewing angles and deep blacks, hence extremely high contrast ratio. This comes in handy when people watch HD video on iPhone 4S. The screen size at 4.3 inches is much closer to the iPhone 4S’s 3.5-inches which makes it comparable with iPhone 4S.
3. Operating System:
HTC One S has Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0 OS. On the other hand, iPhone 4S has a brilliant iOS , The present version is iOS 5 and is upgradable to iOS 5.1. The One S is driven by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Apple IPhone 4S has a dual core processor too, but with a clock speed of 1 GHz.
4. Internal space:
Talking of the internal space, it is 16 GB in One S and 16 GB/32 GB/ 64GB depending upon the chosen model in IPhone 4S. HTC One S has a RAM of 1 GB, whereas IPhone 4S has a RAM equal to 512 MB. One S doesn’t have a card slot, neither does the Apple IPhone 4S.
5. Camera:
Both handsets film fluid 1080p video with 30 fps and good amount of contrast and detail, with the HTC One S again producing slightly oversaturated colors than the footage from the iPhone 4S.
Both the smartphones have 8MP cameras in the rear, with no limitation to the extra features like LED Flash, geo tagging and much more. Secondary camera in Apple is VGA, whereas that in HTC is 1.3 MP shooter.
6. Video playback.
The iPhone 4S lives up to its video playback, though it plays H.264/MPEG-4 files up to 1080p with no problems, whereas you'd have to convert video to iPhone 4S compatible video formats, or hit the App Store for a 3rd party player. Both mobile phones have average data speeds with HTC One S shipped by HSPA (42 mbps) and iPhone 4S shipped by HSPA+ (14.4 mbps). The actual download and upload speed of HTC One S is 5.83 mbps and 1.22 mbps respectively. Whereas that of iPhone 4S is up to 14.02 mbps and 7.94 mbps respectively. Both have fast actual downloads with the iPhone 4S being particular good. The iPhone 4S has very fast actual uploads, while the One S is average.
The price of One S is $710, while that of the IPhone 4S is around $775. It is hard to say which one is more suitable for customers due to the reason that each one has its own distinctive features. It is just up to your preference for an IOS smartphone or Andriod Smartphone.
