Christmas is already on the horizon, it’s a time for us to send all
joys and best wishes for the traditional Christmas and coming New Year. Rapidly
on the rise, there are going to be a lot more Microsoft mobiles under the
Christmas trees around the world. And also it's time for Windows Phone’s turn
with Santa's wishlist. With a huge range of devices, from Nokia Lumia 820/920,
Samsung tablets, through a mix of high, middle, and low range smartphones,
there are hundreds of thousands of apps and games that can be installed on the
platform. Let's pick out just top three that work well for the holidays.
Linkedin
Linkedin can be regarded as world's largest
professional networking website sharing 175 million members in more than 200
countries and territories. LinkedIn is so famous that it is significantly ahead
of its competitors Viadeo and XING. On the network you can manage your
professional identity, build and engage with your professional network, search
for jobs, access knowledge, insights and opportunities. More than other phones,
the newly developed Windows Phone is geared towards staying in contact, and
that makes the LinkedIn client very important.
Yes you can add your LinkedIn network to the personal
address book and the People Hub of Windows Phone, but sometimes you need to
have direct access to the network without the sprawling website. The Windows
Phone client does just that, feeling unique to LinkedIn and fitting in with the
UI around the rest of the phone. It’s a web service app done correctly.
BBC Radio Player
Where would you be without the BBC? The
ability to stream the leading radio stations of the UK to any Windows Phone
handset, along with program information and alarms, is one you should treasured
when travelling. BBC Radio Player gives audiences a simple and consistent
online listening experience. From a simple substitute for a bathroom radio to
keeping in touch from the other side of the world, this is one of the first
apps you always install on a new device.
Infinite Flight is a civilian
flight simulator. It’s an app for anyone with or without a passion for aviation
who wants to experience the feeling of flying an airplane and allows the user
to fly multiple aircraft (14+) from the small Cessna 172 to big airliners like
the A340, Boeing 747.
This was one of the first flight simulators
that were published for Windows Phone. With realistic flight models for 13
aircraft, multiple liveries, autopilot, HUD or virtual cockpits, and two
detailed geographic areas (around San Francisco
and Los Angeles ),
there’s a lot hear for Si-heads. Using the accelerometer as your yoke and
various on screen buttons for the rest of the controls, this isn’t your basic
arcade flyer.
So there are the top three stocking filler
apps for Windows Phone. Which apps would you like this Christmas season? May
the season bring much pleasure to you!
